Xbox Game Pass Welcomes Assassin’s Creed Mirage & More

Microsoft has unveiled the latest additions to Xbox Game Pass for early August, headlined by the arrival of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Ubisoft’s back-to-basics stealth-action adventure. The lineup also includes a diverse mix of genres, ensuring there’s something for nearly every type of player this month.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage joins Game Pass on August 7, marking the first time the title is available on the subscription service. Released less than a year ago, Mirage takes the franchise back to its roots, focusing on tight, city-based stealth, parkour, and narrative-driven missions rather than sprawling RPG mechanics. Players take on the role of Basim Ibn Ishaq as he navigates the streets and rooftops of 9th-century Baghdad in a condensed yet deeply detailed open world. Its inclusion on Game Pass brings one of Ubisoft’s more focused and critically praised entries to millions of subscribers.

Joining Mirage on the same day is Aliens: Fireteam Elite, the cooperative third-person shooter set in the iconic Alien universe. Supporting up to three players, the game tasks fireteams with surviving waves of Xenomorphs and completing story-driven missions across various hostile environments. It’s a high-energy, squad-based experience with customizable classes and weapons, now made more accessible to a broader audience.

Grounded 2, the sequel to Obsidian’s hit backyard survival game, is also making its way to Game Pass this month. The follow-up builds on the original’s quirky premise—miniaturized children surviving in a dangerous suburban backyard—by introducing new biomes, enemies, and crafting systems. Expanded co-op modes and story elements make it a compelling choice for players looking for creativity and challenge in equal measure.

Another notable addition is Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, a remastered bundle that combines two of the most beloved skateboarding games of all time. This release follows the success of the 1+2 remaster and includes upgraded visuals, refined physics, and an expansive online multiplayer component. Nostalgia-driven fans and newcomers alike can enjoy the return of classic levels, soundtracks, and pro skaters with modern performance enhancements.

Meanwhile, indie darling Wuchang: Fallen Feathers rounds out the selection with a gothic soulslike experience inspired by Chinese mythology. This atmospheric action RPG blends heavy combat mechanics with historical and spiritual influences, offering players a dark and brooding world filled with supernatural enemies, branching lore, and punishing boss fights.

All titles are available across Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms, with cloud streaming available for most. Microsoft continues to emphasize day-one or near-launch releases on the service, creating greater value for subscribers and giving smaller titles a larger platform.

Game Pass continues to evolve as one of gaming’s most expansive and varied offerings. With AAA hits like Mirage, nostalgic gems like Pro Skater, and inventive indies like Wuchang all hitting the library this month, August 2025 is shaping up to be a standout period for subscribers.

More Game Pass titles are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, keeping Microsoft’s momentum strong as it moves toward a packed holiday season.
